About the Project
The Build Your VETer Future Challenge is an Erasmus+ KA220-VET Cooperation Partnership running from September 2025 to August 2027. Coordinated by Xarxa FP (Barcelona), it brings together 7 organisations from 5 European countries to fight early school leaving (ESL) in construction and wood VET studies through an innovative international competition based on Challenge-Based Learning (CBL).

The Build Your VETter Future Challenge project addresses three Erasmus+ priorities: fighting climate change, adapting VET to labour market needs, and contributing to innovation in vocational education. Students tackle a real challenge from EGOIN SA — Europe's leading CLT timber construction company — designing modular, energy-efficient, wood-based educational spaces.

Methodology
Work Packages & Activities
The VETer project runs from September 2025 to August 2027 across 4 work packages, structured as an immersive international competition for 30 VET students and 5 tutors from 5 countries.
The four work packages guide the project from coordination and exploration to prototyping and final recognition, ensuring a coherent pathway from ideas to implementation.

Project Timeline & Activities
The VETer project runs from September 2025 to August 2027 across 4 work packages. Each work package includes transnational learning activities (TLAs) hosted by a different partner country, bringing 30 students and 5 tutors together in an immersive international competition.

WP1 – Project Management
Sep 2025 – Aug 2027: Coordination, monitoring, quality assurance and financial management. Led by Xarxa FP.

WP2 – Exploration & Creativity
Sep 2025 – Mar 2026: Exploration Session in Barcelona (Institut Provençana) + Creativity Session in Leuven (de wijnpers). Students explore the challenge and generate creative ideas.

WP3 – Prototyping & Acceleration
Apr 2026 – Mar 2027: Acceleration Session in Viborg (Mercantec) + Prototype Session in Rovaniemi (REDU). Teams develop and build physical prototypes.

WP4 – Showcase & Awards
Apr 2027 – Aug 2027: Final showcase event, jury evaluation, awards ceremony and dissemination. Led by Xarxa FP.

Impact & Outcomes
Why This Project Matters
Early school leaving (ESL) affects 18–24 year-olds across Europe. The EU target is below 9% by 2030. The VETer project directly tackles ESL in construction and wood VET studies through an engaging international competition.
